New bedding for a vintage bassinet

Before my best friend had her twins, a family friend offered to let them borrow their vintage bassinet. It ended up being really useful because my friend and her husband could plop both babies in it and carry it around wherever was needed, which was especially great when they needed to be fed every 3 hours. The initial issue was that the bassinet cover it came with was also vintage and had quite a bit of wear and love. So my friend asked if I would make a new bassinet bedding set that they could wash as needed and not worry about it falling apart.

Unfortunately the only ‘before’ photos I have are of my cat in the bassinet, and are really poor quality, but I wanted to show how worn out the old cover was.

I ended up making one bassinet lining part that goes around the outside edge, and two fitted sheets for the little bassinet mattress in the bottom (I made two because I figured these would need to be cleaned more often). I sort of made it up as I went and created my own pattern for both parts. I chose 100% cotton fabric so everything could be machine wash and dry.
