I found this durable canvas fabric at a fabric sale for a whopping $1/yard. It had been laying around for a while, because believe it or not, finding a use for fabric with green men on it is not as easy as it seems. So I finally decided to make a couple of reusable grocery totes. I created my own pattern and sort of just made it up as I went. I added plastic canvas sheets (like this) in the base and the front and back to make the tote have more structure than your standard grocery tote that collapses every time you try to put something in it. I cut the canvas sheets at the right points on the front and back so it would fold nicely to be stored away.
