I tend to forget how easy it is to fix a hole in a garment and will procrastinate for weeks to avoid doing it. Here’s a way, in a few simple steps, that I just spent 5 minutes to fix a hole in my favorite chambray shirt.
Step 1: Cut a piece of fusible interfacing slightly larger than the hole.
Step 2: Following manufacturer’s instructions, adhere to the wrong side of the fabric. I always put a piece of cotton fabric between the interfacing and my iron to keep the iron from getting sticky.
Step 3: Using a short stitch, sew around the hole.
Step 4: Use a zig zag stich to sew over the hole.
