Vintage-inspired wool jacket

I’ve made quite a few wool coats and jackets in my day. (See some examples here, here, here and a men’s one here.) I love working with wool, and I love making anything that has a vintage vibe like this jacket below. I actually made the pattern myself, then graded it to go from XS-XL and then sold them all on Etsy. It was a lot of fun to try something like that out, but it was a lot of work. SO much work. I think the only way to do it , if I were to attempt something like this again, is to design it and then have someone else make and grade the pattern. I’d sew up the sample size to make sure it all goes together correctly.

This navy wool was hard to capture accurately. It’s a beautiful navy blue color that either wanted to show up too dark or too light in the photos.

Here are some wool and/or vintage-inspired women’s jackets currently available to purchase from Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack.

    Hi Erin

Unfortunately I never did sell the pattern. I just sewed up the jackets and sold those. It’s been years now, so I actually don’t have the patterns or jackets left at this point. Good luck with your search – try Etsy!
